Dr. Hanmanthrao S Palep is an unique blend of advanced modern medicine and traditional experiential wisdom of Ayurveda with the integrative approach towards both streams of medicine.
Born in a small mofissil, studied till matriculation and shifted to Bombay in 1955 for higher education at the Bombay University. In 1962 qualified in Ayurveda with distinction and further pursued Medicine(MBBS) in the year 1967 at The Grant medical College, Mumbai with high merit and went on to complete his post graduate studies in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and thus being awarded MD,DGO,DFP degrees for his high proficiency.
Being appointed as the Lecturer(1972) in Midwifery and Gynaecology at the R.A Podar Medical College, he started his research activities in the field of Ayurveda on Modern scientific parameters. He was then appointed ad the Hon Asst. Professor at The Grant Medical College in the Obst & Gyn Dept. He went on to retire as a very successful and a popular Hon. Professor and Head of unit at the St.George’s Hospital and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals in the year 2001.He has been a popular teacher and gifted gynaecological surgeon. During these 3 decades he tried to integrate both streams of Medicines to the benefit of the society at large. This painstaking research work over the years resulted in the formation of the Dr. Palep’s Medical Research Foundation which over the years created Research based Ayurvedic Extract formulations in Niche segments where the Modern medicine failed to deliver results. Continuous research has been the motto of Dr.H.S.Palep
He conducts successful Obstetric & Gynaecology services at his private Nursing home, Pharmaceutical Business and charitable trust activities.
Dr DB Anantha Narayana retired in December, 2010, as Director, Regulatory Affairs, Foods, Home & Personal Care, Unilever Research, and Bangalore, India.
Dr Narayana, a recipient of the Eminent Pharmacist Award 2007 of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association, is an M Pharm from Saugar University (MP), PhD from Delhi University. He taught pharmacy for 10 years, worked at Ranbaxy Laboratories for over 10 years. He later joined Dabur Research Foundation (DRF) & became its Director. He led a team of researchers to develop for launch anti-cancer drugs, ayurvedic drugs, cosmetics, food products, honey and many other herbal products. At Dabur and later at HUL, he helped the demonstration of the application of "Reverse Pharmacology" approach to develop herbal products with contemporary scientific validations.
He served the HUL/Unilever Research, for the last 8 years and was responsible for building the naturals research programme, besides creating strong regulatory affairs group for South Asia. During his tenure,, Brook Bond Natural Care Tea, which is a Tea with natural extracts of five herbs was proven clinically to help build immunity if 3 cups were taken per day, was developed and launched.
He is a member of Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission's Scientific Committee and is Chairman of its Herbs and Herbal Products Committee .In this effort, notable contributions have been made by the committee in introducing 89 monographs for quality of herbs, extracts and products in IP 2010 edition, which has received wide recognition.
Besides, he has served on Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia Committee, member of ASU DTAB & as a Convener of Herbal Cosmetics Committee of BIS, as Convener of a subgroup of Dr Mashelkar Committee. He was an active member of Managing Committee of Ayurvedic Drug Manufacturer's Association (ADMA). He has served on Indian Pharmaceutical Association, and was Secretary of Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association, and is very active in the professional field. He is a co-author of 8 books and inventor of more than 20 patents.
He is an expert member on the Scientific Panel of the recently formed Food Safety & Standards Authority of India, and contributes positively to the development of regulations of health supplements and functional foods. He has been a speaker/panelist in most of the India Nutra summits held in India to discuss about Nutraceuticals. He currently represents BIS on the working group of ISO committee on "Naturals and Organic". DBA is an expert member of the Steering Committee (HEALTH-AYUSH) of the Planning Commission of India. He has been recently appointed as an Expert member on the Ayurvedic Pharmacopeia Committee of the newly formed Pharmacopeia Commission of Indian Medicine of Ministry of Health.
Dr Narayana has been very active in the professional aspects of Pharmacy, as a Managing Trustee of Delhi Pharmaceutical Trust (DPT), a Trust built with several Pharmacy Professionals to work in the area of Community Pharmacy in India.

To back his experience he is a Modern Medicine Graduate (MBBS) from Govt.Medical College Miraj.
His future plans are to make effective medication with no or minimum side effects, for people of all walks of life. He strongly supports the R&D of Dr. Palep’s for even better future medicines.
