Jesus: the Suffering Servant. a Study Guide for the Gospel of Mark

This commentary series seeks to provide a verse-by-verse explanation of the meaning of books of the Bible in a non-technical manner, while remaining sensitive to the grammar and lexical meaning of the words of the original text. Attention is also given to secondary material, and a list of the resources cited in the commentary is provided for the reader. Discussion questions are included and designed to provide a bridge from the original context to the reader’s context. The treatment of each passage will help facilitate one’s personal Bible study and offer a resource for the classroom and small group settings.Trace L. Howard, M.A., Th.M., J.D., has taught in the New Testament and Pastoral Ministry Departments at Dallas Theological Seminary and Grace Theological Seminary. He has written books on ministry leadership and has published numerous articles, essays, and book reviews in Christian magazines and professional theological and legal journals. He has pastored two churches in the Midwest and has been involved in small group life and leadership for several decades. He lives with his wife Lee in Northeast Indiana where he serves as a member of the teaching team at The Bridge Community Church, Decatur/Berne, Indiana and also teaches Biblical Languages and Literature at the College of Biblical Studies (Fort Wayne, Indiana Campus). He continues to serve in an advisory/elder role at Church Project in The Woodlands, Texas. Prior to moving to Indiana, he practiced law in Houston, Texas for over thirty years.
